Kindergarten has begun a multi-media project inspired by Eric Carle's Mr. Seahorse book. Using just tissue paper and water, they learned how to paint without paint. Found objects were used to stamp a pattern of bubbles on the background paper. We talked about the shape of a seahorse and each one turned out with such personality. Look for some of these in the art show!
This morning, 4th graders began a lesson in contour line drawing. Since spring is just around the corner, beautiful roses were our subject matter. I think even the kids were impressed with the results. We will discuss value and color next class while we watercolor these beauties.
