For the last few weeks, the 4th and 5th graders have been working with clay. The 5th graders are in the final step of creating face tiles. The used 4 tiles to make eyes, a nose and a mouth. This week we are glazing them and wiring them together. These funny faces will hang on the trees that surround Mt. Bethel as an installation art piece! Stay tuned for more pictures of these faces when they are installed.
4th grade has been working on clay birds. Look for them in the hallways next week. Each one is more beautiful than the next! They used bright glazes and adorned them with feathers, wire, raffia, sticks and beads.
2nd grade just started paper weaving. This project incorporates math, measuring and learning how to use a ruler. Weaving with paper is great practice before weaving with yarn.
